When Porsche introduced GT3 for the 991 generation 911, they dropped the six speed manual for the PDK, which had upset most car enthusiast. To make up for their “mistake”, Porsche introduced the 911 R, which they deleted the rear wing from the GT3 and putted a GT3RS engine paired with a six speed manual transmission into the car. And also added various carbon fibre components into the car marking it the lightest 911 available at the time, just over a little over 3000 pounds.
